The Love Birds

Fermilab, in Batavia, IL is one of my favorite places to go to see wildlife. Yes, this is where the big particle accelerator is but they have so much more on their property. Not only do they maintain a heard of bison, I am never dissapointed by the birds, other animals, and insects that I see there. Here is the bison herd.

A coyote was hunting something in the grasses and had not a care that I was right there taking his picture.

The highlight so far from my visits there were the tree swallows. Here is a female tree swallow that landed right by me.

She was then joined by a male tree swallow. They mated many times before the male flew away.

Here is the female at the end, feathers mussed up.

Thanks for reading and please share any bird or wildlife stories you have.
