Kiddieland Amusement Park -

Kiddieland Amusement Park, located in Melrose Park, Illinois, opened it's doors in 1929. Now 81 years later, it is in it's final season and will shut it's doors at the end of the day September 27, 2009.

You can find some interesting history on Kiddieland on their websites History Page. It takes you from 1929 all the way to the present and highlights this park.

My dad grew up going to Kiddieland so we went for one last visit a couple of weeks ago. I took a lot of photos, which I am sharing here.

If you grew up in the Chicagoland area and remember going to Kiddieland, now is the time to make that one last visit.

Tomorrow I will get back to the flowers and bugs. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. What a shame that it will be closing. Looks like a nice little park

  2. Yea, it was and so much of it was kept from back in the 50's and stuff. Not really anyplace else I can think of around here quite like it.

  3. It's too bad they are closing. What a fun little spot. I love those log rides. We have similar out here in the Bay Area and I always feel like a kid while visiting.

  4. I know. Going there is almost like stepping back in time. Some older rides, buildings, etc. I heard, could be wrong, there will be a Target going up in that space.
